United bank of India, a premier public sector bank of India, invites applications from eligible candidates for the posts of probationary officers and specialist officers.

Number of vacancies
Probationary officer (post code: 01) - 900 vacancies and official language officer in JMGS scale I.

Age requirement
Minimum age of 21 and maximum age of 30.

Relaxation in age to backward classes applicable as per government rules.

Educational qualifications
Probationary officers:

The candidate must be A graduate or Post graduate in any discipline from the recognized University with a minimum mark of 55% in either Graduation or Post graduation. 5% relaxation available to candidates belonging to the SC / ST / OBC / PWD Category. Candidate must have successfully completed a computer course of at least 6 months’ duration from any Institute recognized by Central/State Govt. / AICTE.

Official language officer

Post Graduate Degree in Hindi and with English as a subject at Degree level or Post Graduate Degree in Sanskrit and with Hindi and English as subjects at Degree level.

No post qualification experience is required for above posts.

Selection procedure
Selection of candidates for Probationary officer will be made through a written test followed by and Interview. For official language officer, there will be a written test followed by either a PI or GD.

Application procedure
Candidate must draw a DD of Rs.400 from any scheduled commercial bank in favour of “United bank of India specialist officer/ Probationary officers recruitment Project - 2009 “, payable at Mumbai.

For SC/ST/PC the fee is Rs.50

Candidate’s name, date of birth, Address, Post Code & Registration Number should be written on the back of demand draft /bankers’ cheque.

Only online applications are encouraged. Candidate has to apply online following this link and when finished, candidates are advised to take the printout of the application form in an A4 size paper.

The following certificates must be attached along with the application form and DD

Xerox copy of School leaving certificate in support of Date of Birth.
Xerox copy of the Final convocation Degree certificate, certificates in respect of passing Graduate Degree and Post Graduate Degree (Provisional Certificate will be accepted only if the candidate has passed the relevant examination during the past one year i.e. 2008) or the university has not yet issued the convocation certificates .
Year wise /semester-wise Mark sheets for the Graduate and Post Graduate degree or Professional Course.
Medical Certificates in case of Physically Challenged candidates.
SC/ST Caste certificate/OBC certificate with “Non-Creamy Layer Clause” (Not more than one year old)

Last date for applying online is 27.04.2009 (including to those from far flung areas)

Last date for receipt of “Print out of the System Generated Applications” at the address given above by ordinary post on or before 04.05.2009.

For far flung areas the last date is 11.05.2009.
